On Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 10AM - 4PM, MD Anderson will be sponsoring a blood drive in memory of Lt. Al Baker. The blood drive will be held at the clubhouse and the Southside Place Fire Department has volunteered to cook hot dogs and hamburgers for those who wish to eat before or after their donation. Please consider donating blood or platelets for a worthy cause. Click here to reserve your time.
The City of Southside Place Police and Fire Departments surpassed their goal of collection over 150 new toys for the Children's Assessment Center by delivering over 500 toys to the center on December 10. The departments have been participating in the toy drive since 2015 when former Lt. Al Baker became involved. Since his passing earlier this year, his memory was indeed honored by the men and women of the Southside Place Police and Fire Departments, the citizens of Southside Place and all other who contributed their time and gifts into making this the most successful toy drive yet.
Thank you again to everyone who came out to donate and for helping to make this day a success. There were 77 units of blood collect which will impact 196 lives. All proceeds were given directly to Lt. Baker and his family.
